General update - Addi 4.88kg

Addi is now 12 weeks old, and is growing so fast (gaining 330g in two weeks as at last weigh-in!). We are loving having her in our lives, and couldn't imagine our family without her. She is so much more relaxed than both of the boys were; aside from a period of intense grumbling most nights, she is a really happy baby, and continues to sleep around eight hours a night! She loves the boys, giving them heaps of smiles (they are keeping a smile count, and having a competition for the most smiles) and the boys just adore her. We are also reminded of how lucky we are to have this big fantastic house, where all family members can have their own space - our previous house in Dunlop would not have been anywhere near as accommodating!

The reason for the lack of posts is that life has been....normal... not much to report. The boys are back at school tomorrow after a pretty standard school holidays; we didn't go anywhere, or do anything special, but Mum has done a great job of keeping them entertained each day. Having said that, we are looking forward to Nan and Grandad visiting next week! We are also planning a holiday in July, but not sure what we'll do yet; we are even considering taking the new car to the Gold Coast!

Oh, on the new car; it's going really well, and is a joy to drive. It's also a big safe car, which is at the forefront of our minds presently, given our dear friends had a car accident on Friday night and wrote off their Commodore Sportwagon. Luckily all came away with almost no injuries.

Autumn is proving to be most enjoyable, with lovely warm days, and mild nights - we still haven't even used the heater yet!

Addi 8 weeks old!

We are absolutely loving having little Addi in our lives. She is so beautiful, which is lucky, because the negative effect on our sleep has been rather profound - it's definitely harder to cope with than when we were 30, that's for sure! But, and I'd hate to jinx it, she has slept 8 hours straight for the last three nights straight...!

We weighed Addi recently, and she had put on 485 grams, which is fantastic... So everything is going swimmingly...

...have been working hard in literacy groups to pack up and line up quickly. Keep up the great work!

In other news the boys did a trial session of Impact Martial Arts last Wednesday. Linc loved it, Carter hated it. So we signed up Linc straight away and organised his uniform for the next class on Friday. But then after talking with Carter he was convinced he would give it one more go - but that he wanted a uniform too. So we booked him in and arranged for a uniform (worst case, we lose $35...). Come Friday and it was with great trepidation that we watched Carter with Linc doing the training - and he appeared to be loving it. And he did! So glad, as he has had enough of swimming, and we are also not doing soccer this year, so we wanted them to be doing at least one extra-curricular activity!

Addi's first trip to the coast

Not that we got to go to the beach or anything, but Addi got her first taste of the sea air last week. We had to take the new car to the coast to get some special treatment done to protect the paint, so we dropped the boys with Gran and took Addi on her very first road trip! She behaved perfectly, despite arriving at the bay to 42.3 degrees!
