2020 Wrap-up #5 - September - December

In September Carter turned 10. Given how much riding the kids were doing (mostly up and down the street, as they'd never been able to do that before!) Carter was certainly well overdue for a new bike. For his birthday he got a brand new Kross 2.0 which he absolutely loves. We were also lucky enough to have more interstate visitors from Adelaide (Nan & Grandad) who were able to be here for Carter's birthday.

October saw the return of Gran and Pop to surprise Mum for her birthday, with Aunty Suze coming up also. Unfortunately the trip took a turn for the worse when Gran discovered a lump that ended up being cancer. She had surgery in Brisbane and only travelled back to Canberra after she had recovered from the surgery. As at Jan 2021 she is still undergoing chemotherapy but the prognosis is good.

In December Addi graduated from K&C (to start Prep in 2021) and Linc graduated from Primary School on 3 December. 

Mooloolaba

For Christmas we bought Carter a snorkelling tour at Mudjimba Island (he's a mad keen snorkeller!). We thought it might be a good idea to have a couple of nights at Mooloolaba so we were close to the tour departure point. However, upon arriving at Mooloolaba we found out the tour had been cancelled due to bad weather. Carter was devastated. 

We tried to snorkel in the ocean, but the swell was horrible and it wasn't any fun at all. Still, the accommodation at the Beachcomber on the Spit was excellent and it was nice to relax and spend some time on the beach (although it took almost 2 hrs to drive from home to Mooloolaba - only 1 hour to return!). 

Christmas

Nan and Grandad flew back to Brisbane to spend Christmas with the family. It was so nice to be able to have family here and we all had a great time - and most likely drunk way too much!

New Years Eve

On December 31st we gave 2020 a fit and proper FU send off which was fitting as all of the celebrations were either cancelled (Brisbane fireworks) or televised (Sydney fireworks) with no crowds allowed. 

Let's hope 2021 is a little more 'normal'...
