Second haircut!
Linc behaved exceptionally well through his second haircut. It's amazing how something as simple as a haircut can make him look so much more grown up. Pretty scary actually.
Oh, and he's not allergic to peanuts! Hooray - he'll one day know the mouth-watering taste of braised chicken satay... YUM!
2.0 is baking nicely, with Mum not as sick so often now. Only five weeks until we know whether Linc will get a little brother or a little sister!

11.07 kg 15 March 2010
Linc has put on 500g per month for the last two months to put him at 11.07 kg. He is now over the 50th percentile for weight. He is 81 cm tall which means he maintains his 90th percentile rating.
Well done Mum and Dad! (and Linc!)...
He is still very grumpy from his measles though - and we can't wait till he gets over that as poor Mum is suffering enough from her morning sickness from 2.0!

Lincoln contracts Roseola (baby measles)
Poor old Linc woke up screaming on Tuesday night and was as hot as a furnace. We couldn't really see anything particularly wrong with him, so dosed him up with neurofen and he went back to sleep ok. But woke up Wednesday morning still with a fever. This fever lasted until Friday before it started to subside, but yesterday (Saturday) Mum noticed that he had developed a rash. So we took him to the doctor who diagnosed Roseola (baby measles).
Fortunately Roseola is one of those harmless but uncomfortable child illnesses. Characterised by a fever and a rash (which develops once the fever has gone down) it commonly strikes babies between nine months and 21 months. Roseola is caused by a virus, human herpes virus type 6 (HHV-6), and is passed on through saliva (think of all those toys going from mouth to mouth). It's often difficult to identify the source of the infection, as roseola is infectious before the rash is visible and has an incubation period of five to 15 days (Lewis, 2007).
There is no known risk to pregnant women as the mother is almost always immune.

12 week 3 day ultrasound
A second very special life experience this morning - seeing your baby safe inside its Mum's tummy... just like the first, it still brings a tear to the eye.
He/she is 6cm long, with a heartbeat of 149bpm and all things in the right places! Due date is 18 September...

Special Announcement
It is our absolute joy to announce that Lincoln will soon have a little brother or sister! Wednesday marks the magic 12 week milestone, with our first ultrasound at 10.15am tomorrow!!! Stay tuned for some pics (hopefully!).In the meantime, Linc continues to fill our lives with happiness and amusement - he's an absolute character, even with some nasty teeth making his life a bit miserable! He's currently working on the two top (right one will drop first) and the left one to his (very first) bottom tooth.
